Robinson Ransbottom

Heavy American stoneware made for everyday work: crocks, jars, planters, kitchen ware, garden pieces, and familiar blue-decorated forms.

The pottery

Useful ware with a century of production.

The Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Company formed in 1900 in Roseville, Ohio. Collectors often shorten the name to RRPCo or Robinson Ransbottom. Its durable stoneware was produced in large quantities and sold for household, commercial, and garden use.

The long production span means a mark can identify the company without precisely dating the piece. Form, decoration, clay, glaze, and catalog evidence are all needed for a narrower range.

Collector notes
  • Do not confuse the Roseville, Ohio location with Roseville Pottery Company; they were separate manufacturers.
  • Large crocks are costly to ship, so local demand can affect realized prices.
  • Future updates will add a dated mark chart and selected catalog forms.
